Tatsumaki ( waterspouts ) in Henoko Okinawa Japan

Tatsumaki ( waterspouts ) in Henoko Okinawa Japan on Aug 28th 2006. I was on my way to pick up some lunch, the sun was out and no wind where I was. There was a large cloud off the beach, as I was walking I noticed some vortexes decending from the cloud. At that time I didnt have my camera with me. There was 6 waterspouts at one time, I saw a total of 11 them. I did get my camera and got pictures of the largest one, this one lasted for a little over 20 min.

In Japanese waterspouts are called tatsumaki.
